If we do a little step for Loos-en-Gohelle during COP21, it’s a a big step to change the world!
A few months ago we started a partnership with Suez Environment to source social entrepreneurs all around the world innovating to better manage our waste and save the environment. We mobilized citizens and makers on their projects.
Antoine, our community developper for this program did a great job to showcase initiatives and train volunteers. You can discover a sum-up of the current mobilization in place here and an example of events and initiatives in this video.
All together, we sourced more than 300 innovative projects around the world.
Now, Antoine is teaming up with Aurélie and Arnaud and we have the opportunity during the COP21, to test those innovations and recommend them to the mayor and citizens of Loos-en-Goelle to experiment them.
Loos is a city that has been chosen by the French governement to be the main experimentation city for new ways. After mobilizing social entrepreneurs, citizens and makers, we’re now involving in our mobilization and impact local territories. A success in Loos could lead to many more success in other cities and grow our collective impact. You’re invited ! :)
The contributive forum will take place in Loos-en-Gohelle on December 4th and 5th. During this forum, citizens will be invited to build concrete solutions to the challenges currently facing the town and its inhabitants. These challenges were identified by MakeSense and friends during an initial investigative trip to the region, which involved field visits and meetings with public actors, local start-ups, associations and residents. The workshops proposed during the forum will help create more sustainable development in the region by giving the power of innovation back to its citizens.
This weekend’s forum represents a first, small scale iteration of a much larger forum to be held this spring.
Arthur, an architect working on the the relationship between citizens and there environment, has joined the movement:
Build the city of tomorrow with its inhabitants
We often dream the future city as a very technological urbanscape, but where social innovation is actually leading us?
What if collaboration, sharing, reuse, imagination and citizenship become the main force of transformation of or build environment ? Loos-en-Gohelle offers us a glimpse of that desirable world, humble yet magnificent, where consumers (of goods but also public services) become the co-productors of their future, where you build the park you want to have, where elderlies are very active in the many associations of the town, where you can visit a cybercoin where a local is improving his turkish online to welcome the COP21 while children learn to make video and grandpas to use their mailbox… Let’s invest this very fertile soil, full of life and rich of its diversity, to plant the seeds of the society we want to grow.
Let’s all go to Loos !
